Christmas Jumper Day!

December 13, 2013

Today is Christmas Jumper Day!

cjd13
Save The Children are encouraging us all to show some GoodWool this Christmas and don our naff Christmas jumpers, and donate £1 (or more!)

I was a little late to the party, and after a fruitless search of the local charity shops, I decided to make my own. I had grand plans of appliquéing a Rudolph or a snowman or a Christmas tree onto my jumper, but then had an “A-HA” moment that made things much quicker and easier!

I got hold of 1 plain jumper, and 1 Santa hat, both from the charity shop

Plain jumper, in case you are having difficulty picturing one….

I butchered the Santa hat by cutting it in half (sorry  Santa) and then pinned it to my jumper

And then hand-sewed, yes people, I hand-sewed, it to the jumper. In hindsight, I should have bondawebbed it first, but I only thought of this halfway through and then was loathe to unpick my laborious hand sewing.

What do you think?!

What do you think?!

It’s not too late to take part, or to donate even if you aren’t taking part.
Simply text WOOLLY to 70050 to donate £1.
£1 is really not much, but it can make the difference between life and death for some of the children that Save the Children support.
Your money could pay for nine sachets of oral rehydration treatment for children suffering from deadly diarrhoea.

So go on, don a Christmas jumper and save a life 🙂

We did Christmas Jumper Day at work yesterday – we all wore silly outfits (I had Joe Brown’s reindeer dress) and hosted a Festive Cake Sale raising over £200 for Save the Children! Loving the homemade Santa hat jumper as well! 🙂 x

What a wonderful idea, but at 6pm I’m all out of time, so have donated via my mobile! Hope that my £5 goes a long way to helping. That’s what Christmas is all about…..

I decided on pinning baubles to my jumper 2 minutes before I left for work this morning 🙂

Good idea! A quick and easy solution 🙂

Quick and easy-that’s my kind of Make!

        It’s the thought that counts!

    • Reply Jen December 13, 2013 at 11:04 pm

      Did you manage it?

  • Reply Beth December 13, 2013 at 2:23 pm

I arranged this at my work. Did a quiz, a bake sale and a raffle too. We raised somewhere over £150 I think 🙂
I do not have a Christmas jumper. I took a plain black jumper and safety pinned rudolph, Santa and five red baubles to it. I was quite proud. In an ashamed kinda way 🙂

Sounds fab! Loving the safety pins 🙂
