#Secondhandfirst Week with TRAID

Starting today (23rd) and running until the 29th November, TRAID are celebrating the power of secondhand to change the world, with #secondhandfirst week.
TRAID is a charity dedicated to re-using unwanted clothes and textiles with the key aim of encouraging people to commit to wearing and sourcing more of their clothes (and other resources) secondhand, rather than buy new.

Christmas is coming.
I’d been kind of ignoring it, but then we tuned in live for the last episode of Downton Abbey last night, and OMG, the adverts..!

So I feel at liberty to start openly discussing all things Christmas, and have the beginnings of a plan for a series of posts about a less consumerist festive season.

Waste Less Live More Week 2015

I did warn you that September was a jam-packed month for all things Make Do and Mend…
As well as the month long Festival of Repair, we’ve already had Zero Waste Week, The Handmade Fair, and Charity Fashion Live!

This week sees the return of Keep Britain Tidy’s Waste Less Live More Week, bringing together organisations and people from all over the country to take part in activities which are good for people and the environment.
