How to Make Wide Leg Trousers Skinny Fit

Today, we have a guest post from fabulous sew-er and upcycler extroadinaire Vicky Myers!
She’s going to show us how to convert a pair of wide leg trousers to on trend skinny fit.

DIY Skinny Trousers

Excellent lets get started your trousers will be converted in less than half a hour!

Start by laying out the pair of trousers to be altered. Lay the skinny pair on top, aligning the crotch and waist band carefully.

Align trousers

Ensure the inside seams are perfectly aligned. Mark down the outside seam on the larger pair, where the skinny pair end.

Chalk mark seam

Pin along marked seam, and trim seam (as picture).

Sew seams. Finish off seams with a zigzag stitch to stop fraying.

Use this first leg as a template for the second leg – it is vital to remember that this second leg the taylor chalk marks the seam allowance and not the stitch marks.
