Plastic Pick-up and Promise for Earth Day

Earth Day is coming up on the 22nd April and the focus this year is to ‘End Plastic Pollution’.
Earth Day has been running since the 22nd April 1970 and it’s “mission is to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide” with more than a billion people now taking part each year!

I wanted to come up with something that we could all do collectively to really make a difference this Earth Day and after posting in my Facebook group for ideas, this is what I’ve come up with:

It’s super simple:

1) Do a 10 minute litter pick in your local area, on your own or with others
2) Post a picture of what you collect on social media – use the hashtags #EarthDay2018 and #sustlife (so I can find you!)
3) Make a pledge – pick ONE thing you can do reduce your use of single-use plastic.
If you’re struggling for ideas, check out the tips below:

4) Come and share your pick-up picture and your plastic promise in the comments here or in the Facebook group!

With over 20k people following the blog on social media, we really could collectively make a big difference – will you join me?
